Social Media : Principles

I am so thankful that the first principle of social media is to listen. Easy, breezy, beautiful right ? Maybe.  Things are often easier said then done.
The second principle is to produce good stuff. Good is always open to interpretation unless you follow the first principle. Then you realize that for you and your business Good has rules and guidelines.
The third principle is to send that good stuff out to your readers. This is pretty basic until you start to realize that there are a multitude of ways people can access the information you are ready to send. Content that people can't, don't or won't access is just the same as goods that won't sell. Those goods aren't any good to you.
To avoid being redundant we're going to skip over the next two text book principles:
4.Let readers decide which stuff is good.
5.Make the good stuff findable.
Principle number six comes straight from the bible. Do unto others as you would have others do unto you. Ok. No, It doesn't but you can apply that here if you forget the sixth principle. Share your spotlight ! Or in textbook terms, publish content from your followers and supporters.
The last principles is to foster community. Be kind, be supportive, engage your followers and ensure that everyone feels comfortable, invited and welcome.
If this doesn't work.. don't blame me ! I got this from a textbook.

Social Media: Timing Strategy

According to the textbook, sharing too much information or sharing too often can irritate your followers.  I had to chuckle as I read that because If you use social media everyday for personal use then this is bond to happen sooner or later especially when emotions are in motion.
Timing strategies are tailored to fit your business and there isn't a one size fits all way to interact on your social media accounts. Some brands should and do interact more than others and their supporters are fine with that. Other brands may interact less and that also works for them.
The only way to determine what's best for your brand is by using the principles of social media and the first principle is to LISTEN ! Your supporters will tell you what they want. After all that goes right back to supplying the need that people demand. Give the people what they want.
According to the textbook your timing strategy your updates should be:
Facebook 1 per day or less
Twitter 3-15 post per day
Email 1 or two per week

Social Media: Is your hash tag working for you ?

Your hashtag can tell a lot about your online activity if you make sure to use it. When used properly anyone can find out every thing you want them to know via a search engine like google. When it matters the most, make sure you use your hash tag. The hash tag should definitely be included in your marketing plan. Right now,  before everyone else figures out just how effective a hash tag is.

This is another test that I took one time and passed. I'm glad I decided to take these test because they have reassured me that I am taking my career in the right direction. I absolutely love the internet. Marketing !??! Who would have ever thought I'd be interested in it and pretty knowledgeable too. I think what makes the biggest difference is the fact that it's Internet marketing, the internet makes marketing much more appealing to me.

Facebook: Youtube Apps

All Youtube Apps are not created equal ! Over the years I've tried quite a few different youtube apps for pages and I still have been able to find what I would consider a perfect youtube app. A perfect youtube app will allow your youtube fans to subscribe to your channel from within facebook and allow them to view the comments, likes and shares on that video from all around the internet.
I believe that is an application that hasn't yet been created. I will keep my eyes open because I'm pretty sure Im not the first person do think of this. For right now I'm using these three different youtube apps below.  As you can see they are essentially the same with some differences in appearance.
The first one below and the last one are almost identical. However, the first one below shows the subscribe button and the last one does not. I prefer the subscribe button but a great solution would be to make the subscribe button optional. The second app allows you to also view the favorites of the youtube channel. I think that's something I'd rather leave on youtube so also making this an optional feature would be better.
As for the layout, I prefer the layout of the first and the last youtube app although I enjoy the style of the second youtube app. I guess it's safe to say that a perfect youtube app is still in development.

Disabled Audio on Youtube ..?

Fret not if the audio on your Youtube video has been disabled. I also experienced the same problem and decided to find a real solution to the problem. I threw my youtube skills in to action and found a fix for the problem right on the site.

I was skeptical at first because it just seemed to easy to be true so I tested this on my one of my own youtube videos with disabled audio and hours later the audio was back. Bingo baby !!

Now that's the power of using the web efficiently.

What this short video that I used to get the audio back on my youtube video after it had been disabled by youtube.

And for great audio check out
